Think all swimming pools have to be in the ground? Think again. Hotels around New Orleans give you plenty of opportunities to cool down in style and take their pool days to another level – the roof!

Rooftop pools are located throughout the city, offering services, drinks and snacks for a comfortable ways to bask in the sun. Enjoy a gorgeous view of the French Quarter while swimming at the Omni Royal Orleans or a breathtaking view of the downtown skyline at the Hotel Monteleone. Even in the Garden District, you can relax poolside with unique city views at the Avenue Plaza Resort. Although many of the rooftop pools are for hotel guests only, some hotels open their rooftop pools to the public, giving everyone a chance to cool off. Relax with a trendy cocktail on the roof of the Ace Hotel, a hot-spot open until 9 p.m. The famous Roosevelt Hotel’s rooftop pool and deck is also open to the public if you rent a cabana, offering a view and service unlike anything other.
