As a major tourist attraction, New Orleans has long offered visitors a wide variety of options for touring our historic city, with everything ranging from modern, comfortable, air-conditioned tour buses to no-frills wooden carriages drawn by mules and many others in between. Now you can choose from yet another option – double-decker, open-top sightseeing buses painted bright red like the famed double-deckers of London.
City Sightseeing New Orleans offers "unlimited hop-on and hop-off access" which allows you to disembark at any stop you choose and spend as much time there as you like. The bus loop passes by most of New Orleans' major historical and cultural sites in the downtown and French Quarter neighborhoods in 30-minute intervals and you can re-board when you are ready to move on to the next site or sites you'd like to see. The entire tour, for those who choose to remain on the bus, takes approximately two hours.
The advantage this service offers is that you are not locked into a limited time frame at a particular site, as you would be on a conventional tour. You get to design your own schedule, not the other way around and, with the added advantage of an open upper deck, you get to see much more than you would from the window of a conventional tour bus.
All tours are narrated live in English by an experienced, knowledgeable, licensed tour guide. However, for the convenience of our foreign visitors, City Sightseeing New Orleans will give you a set of your own free souvenir earbuds so you can hear the tour in your native tongue. Seven language options are offered: Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, Italian, Japanese and Chinese. In addition, the parent company is developing a Kid's Club Channel, as well as an option to hear the tour in a local Cajun accent!
