Louisiana Swamp Festival
See your favorite swamp critters; chow down on Cajun food and dance to your favorite Cajun and Zydeco music at the Audubon Institute’s annual Louisiana Swamp Festival, held the first weekend in November at the world-class Audubon Zoo in New Orleans.
Hear some of your favorite Cajun, Zydeco and Country performers. Chow down on Cajun jambalaya and gumbo, fried alligator, boudin, crab cakes with crawfish sauce, catfish po-boys, crawfish bread, and cracklins from some of the best restaurants and caterers in Southern Louisiana.
Bring a piece of Louisiana’s heritage home with unique Cajun creations. Genuine Louisiana arts and crafts will be sold throughout the Zoo with a showcase of wood furniture, one-of-a-kind Louisiana paintings, woven cypress baskets, duck carvings and more.
Learn more about the Cajun culture with special animal feedings and hands-on encounters in addition to Cajun storytelling, pirogue-building, and wild fowl carving presentations in the now-famous Louisiana Swamp Exhibit.
The event takes place at Audubon Zoo. Contact the Audubon Zoo for more information.
Remember: no ice chests are allowed in Swamp Festival! The zoo will have plenty of food and drink available for purchase. |
