Mardi Gras Krewes

The Mystic Krewe of Nyx
By Arthur Hardy

Iris

The Mystic Krewe of Nyx is named for the goddess of the night, one of the most powerful goddesses who represents the dark light that falls from the stars. The krewe was established to connect women of diverse backgrounds to encourage, promote, and cultivate a spirit of sisterhood amongst members. Their colors are hot pink and black, signature throws are hand-decorated purses, and motto is “Friends come and go, but a sister is forever,” all of which truly capture the lively spirit of this unique all-female krewe.  The mission is to embrace tradition, but constantly promote forward thinking, inspiring women of all ages to let her inner goddess shine. The Krewe of Nyx typically parades the Wednesday night before Mardi Gras along the St. Charles Avenue route.
