We're Number One!
New Orleans Ranked at Top of T & L List
for Singles, Cocktails, Live Music
In the same year the New Orleans pro football team, the Saints, ranked Number One in their sport with a Super Bowl victory, their host city once again placed at the top of Travel + Leisure magazine’s list in three categories. The Crescent City also ranks first for singles, cocktail hour and live music scenes, and it’s the winner in the “wild weekend” category too.
The world’s most widely read magazine for travelers, Travel + Leisure has consistently, over the course of recent years, ranked New Orleans at or near the top in these categories, based on a readership poll. As many as 125,000 readers or more may submit their votes in these and other categories around this time every year – usually during the summer when traveling is at its peak.
In the category of “Best City for Singles,” New Orleans ranked above Miami, Austin, New York, Las Vegas, Chicago, Houston, Nashville, San Francisco and Providence, Rhode Island. In 2008 the city took top honors for food and live music and, in 2009, the city won again for live music and nightlife. Also in 2009, the Society of American Travel Writers also ranked New Orleans number one for live music and nightlife.
In the same 2010 T + L survey, readers ranked locals high in friendliness (No. 2) and diversity (No. 3).
All the more reasons why you should choose to visit New Orleans for the best in live entertainment for singles and cocktails brought to you by some of the friendliest people on earth. And don’t forget our great food, too, brought to your table in some of the world’s greatest and best-known restaurants.
