NOLA Goes Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness
October 2011

With 31 days in the month, 31 participating New Orleans restaurants will be offering $31 prix fixe dinners or entrées in support of breast cancer awareness throughout October. And, as evidence of their support, the participating chefs will wear pink chefs' coats during this first-of-its-kind breast cancer fundraiser that has been dubbed "NOLA Goes Pink."

Ten percent of each sale will go to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, New Orleans affiliate.  In a city renowned for its sauces and spices, the menus will feature clean, healthy, non-cancer-causing, nutrient-dense, plant-based and lean-in-animal-fat offerings. The participating chefs will use products from local farmers' markets and vendors.

In support of this cause, the chefs and restaurateurs of New Orleans are showcasing the same spirit of hospitality that they illustrated post-Katrina and on the heels of the Gulf Coast oil spill.  This time, they're coming together as a group to help raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research in New Orleans. Hopefully, other cities will follow suit.

During this month-long effort, it is hoped that as many visitors as possible will patronize the participating restaurants, a list of which is below:
