NBA All-Star Weekend
February 16-19, 2017

The NBA All-Star Weekend is an annual weekend of exhibition basketball games for the best players of the Western Conference to take on the best players of the Eastern Conference. The event began in 1951 and each year, a new city hosts the weekend. This year’s event will take place in New Orleans, in the downtown area at venues like the Smoothie King Center.


Thursday, February 16th

Dew NBA 3X All-Star Edition: Team Kyrie vs. Team Russ
Catch this 3 on 3 battle between GM’s Kyrie Irving and Russell Westbrook, who will use Shaquille O’Neal and Dennis Scott’s expertise for a duel between the country’s top amateur players. This event is brought to New Orleans by Mountain Dew, the NBA, and TNT and tickets can be found here.

NBA on TNT Road Show
Head to Champions Square to catch the NBA broadcast on TNT live and in person. Ernie, Kenny, Charles, and Shaq will be there to break down Thursday night’s game and preview the weekend festivities. The event will also include giveaways, contests, t-shirts and more! Register for tickets here.

Mardi Gras The Boat Party
To kick off the weekend, check out Mardi Gras The Boat Party hosted by Safaree. The party takes place aboard the Creole Queen, with boarding beginning at 7 p.m. before the ship departs at 8 p.m. Cruise along the river and enjoy the first party of all-star weekend before the ship returns at 10 p.m. For tickets and more details, visit the event’s official page.

Friday, February 17th

All Black Boat Ride Party
If you missed Thursday night’s boat party, don’t worry. You have another change to board the Creole Queen with the All Black Boat Ride Party hosted by Pooch Hall. Boarding begins at 7 p.m. before the ship departs at 8 p.m. Make sure to wear your very best black attire! The party returns at 10 p.m. For more info and tickets, see here.

NBA All-Star Rising Stars Challenge and Celebrity Game
Rookies and second-year players earn their shot to show everyone their potential at the Rising Stars Challenge. Celebrities also come together to play and show off their basketball skills. The game runs from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets available here.

BBVA Compass Rising Stars Challenge
Directly following the celebrity game, fans can support the league’s top rookies in this rising stars game. It runs from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Smoothie King Center. Tickets available here.

Saturday, February 18th

All-Star Practice
Fans can see the all-stars practice before the big game at 11 a.m. at the Superdome on Saturday! All-Star practice tickets include access to the NBA D-League All-Star Game. For tickets, see here.

NBA D-League All-Star Game
Join the top prospects from the NBA D-League at the NBA D-League All-Star Game presented by Kumho Tire at Mercedes-Benz Superdome at 1:30 p.m. With tickets starting at $10, this event includes the annual NBA D-League All-Star Game, NBA D-League Slam Dunk presented by Verizon and NBA D-League Three-Point Contest. All All-Star practice tickets include access to this event. 

State Farm All-Star Saturday Night
Watch the all stars take on different exciting challenges at this Saturday night game. The players will face off in skills like three-pointers and slam dunks – it is a basketball event not to be missed. For tickets, see here.

Sunday, February 19th

NBA All-Star Game
The NBA All-Star game is the main event of the weekend. The Western Conference will battle the Eastern Conference in a heated game, and players complete to win the title of MVP. See here for tickets.
