Regional Transit Authority Buses

Along with the streetcar, The Regional Transit Authority (RTA) runs 30 bus lines in the city. With their handy Trip Planner you can find what routes to take to get to your destination. You can find out exactly when your bus will arrive with the Transit Tracker. And you can download the free Le Pass app from RTA to pay for your fare instantly on your phone. Buses can also be used to get to and from the airport for the same fare as a bus within city limits. Or, you can utilize shuttle services to travel from the airport.

Below are some popular RTA bus lines for visitors:

Explore Magazine Street. Take Bus 11 from Downtown to Uptown. Use this bus that travels along Magazine Street to get to Audubon Park, or anywhere on St. Charles Avenue.

Go the Zoo or Tipitina’s. Take Bus 10. Be sure to stop by Hansen’s Sno-Bliz for a sweet treat on the way back.

Hit the clubs on Frenchmen Street. Take Bus 5 and save your feet for dancing all night to live music.

Spend the day at City Park. Take Bus 91 and get off at Beauregard Circle.

Get to and from the Airport. Hop the RTA’s 202 Airport Express, which travels from the airport terminals to Elk Place at Canal Street in downtown New Orleans. The fare is $1.50 and the bus makes 9 daily trips to New Orleans. For more information, you can visit the New Orleans RTA website here:
