Take a Train to New Orleans

Amtrak

Amtrak offers routes to New Orleans from a number of cities across the country. Three trains service the New Orleans area:

  • City of New Orleans: Daily service originating in Chicago with stops in Carbondale IL, Memphis TN, Jackson MS and small towns along the way. Amenities include: Checked Baggage Service, Lounge, Dinette, Cafe and Snack Cars, Dining Car. Click here for more information.

  • Crescent: Daily service originating in New York City at Penn Station, with stops in Philadelphia PA, Baltimore MD, Washington DC, Charlotte NC, Atlanta GA, Birmingham AL, Meridian MS, and small towns along the way.   • Sunset Limited:Departs 3 days a week from Los Angeles, with stops in Tucson AZ, San Antonio TX and Houston TX and small towns along the way. Amenities include: Non-Smoking Policy, Checked Baggage Service, Lounge, Dinette, Cafe and Snack Cars, Dining Car. Click here for more information.

Amtrak Hours of Operation

Hours of operation subject to change. Please call to verify hours before making travel arrangements. The station is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The ticketing office is open from 5:45 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. seven days a week. Baggage service is available from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. seven days a week.
