Admission Cost: $22 for adults and free for children under 12 years. $15 ticket options available for students, military, seniors (65 and older), groups, and residents of St. James and St. John the Baptist parishes.


Whitney Plantation is the only plantation museum in Louisiana with a focus on slavery. Through the use of restored historic buildings, museum exhibits, memorial artwork and hundreds of first-person slave narratives, visitors are offered a unique perspective on the lives of Louisiana’s enslaved people. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Whitney Plantation is located less than an hour from New Orleans on the historic River Road.
