Cabaret/Burlesque Clubs

At one time in our recent history, New Orleans was notorious for its risqué burlesque clubs. The names of the dancers and other burlesque entertainers are as legendary as their names were colorful. Some of them are even still alive today, and still performing!

Though not as plentiful as they were during Bourbon Street’s heyday, you can still find a number of the sassy, sexy ladies twirling their tassels in various clubs around the French Quarter. And, for those who like their entertainment cabaret-style, there are a few places along those lines as well. See the listings below to find out where the hottest action is.

Description: Despite the name (conjuring images of Chicago blues), this club is the high velocity outlet for rock bands with occasional blues and jazz. Comfortable, cold A/C and owner Howie Kaplan is determined to make you love his club. Located in the Warehouse District.

Description: The eternally glamorous Ms. Owens delivers an elegant dose of Las Vegas to Bourbon Street with her Latin Rhythms band commencing at 8:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday with the star herself taking the stage at 10 p.m. Reservations recommended. This is the way floor shows used to be back in the days when women wouldn't leave home without their white gloves and men indulged in the three-martini lunch.
